Attorney for Students

If you need to consult an attorney at the Office of the Attorney for Students:

• Only Texas State students who are enrolled at the university and who have paid the student fees are eligible to use this service.
• No legal advice will be given over the telephone. You will need to schedule an appointment to speak with one of the attorneys.
• Appointments are typically arranged for a different day. No walk-in consultations are given. In an emergency, an attorney may be able to speak with you on the same day that you call or visit our office; however, this possibility is limited and cannot be guaranteed.
• To schedule an appointment, you may either call our office at (512) 245-2370 or come to our office in person. You should bring your Texas State ID so that we can verify your identity and enrollment status.
• If this is your first time to speak with one of our attorneys, arrive several minutes prior to your appointment so that you can fill out an intake form.
• Bring any relevant documents with you to your appointment. Relevant documents include: traffic ticket(s), ordinance violation ticket(s), papers related to your arrest, lease(s), letters, or anything else you consider relevant.

All student information is protected by attorney-client privilege and is treated confidentially by all personnel.
