Texas Supreme Court
Composed of nine justices, all elected to staggered six-year terms, the Texas Supreme Court has final authority in all civil and juvenile delinquency cases in the state.

Texas Court of Criminal Appeals
Texas Court of Criminal Appeals - The Court of Criminal Appeals is the highest state court for appeals resulting from criminal cases. The Court holds sessions throughout the year in Austin, Texas. The Court is comprised of 9 members, a Presiding Judge and eight Judges.

First Court of Appeals
The First Court of Appeals serves the Houston, Texas area. The court consists of nine Justices hearing cases from the thirteen (13) counties.

Second Court of Appeals
The Second Court of Appeals serves the Fort Worth, Texas area. The court consists of seven Justices hearing cases from the twelve counties.

Third Court of Appeals
The Third Court of Appeals serves the Austin, Texas area. The court consists of six Justices hearing cases from the twenty-four counties.

Fourth Court of Appeals

Seventh Court of Appeals
The Court has appellate jurisdiction over 46 counties in the Texas Panhandle.

Eighth Court of Appeals
The Eighth Court of Appeals serves the west Texas area and is located in El Paso. The court consists of four Justices hearing cases from the twenty-two counties.

Ninth Court of Appeals
The Ninth Court of Appeals serves the Beaumont, Texas area. The court consists of a Chief Justice and two (2) Justices hearing cases from the eleven (11) counties.

Tenth Court of Appeals
The Tenth Court of Appeals hears approximately 350 criminal and civil appeals a year from the sixteen-county district. The Court is composed of a Chief Justice and two Justices.

Eleventh Court of Appeals
The Eleventh Court of Appeals serves the Eastland, Texas area. The court consists of three Justices hearing cases from the twenty-eight counties.

Twelfth Court of Appeals
The Twelfth Court of Appeals serves the Tyler, Texas area. The court consists of three Justices hearing cases from the eighteen counties.

Thirteenth Court of Appeals
